Your generosity has brought moments of joy to a family who has sacrificed everything for Israel. Thanks to your donations, Neora Swid and her three daughters were able to enjoy some moments of joy and relaxation, something that is tough to do since losing their beloved Bechor on October 7th.
For those who don’t know their story, Master Sgt. (res.) Bechor Swid gave his life defending elderly residents of Pri Gan from Hamas terrorists. Without hesitation – or even stopping to grab his rifle – he rushed to protect those who couldn’t protect themselves. That was just who Bechor was, as Neora says: “He was always a fighter. He would never give up.”
Living just 700 meters from Gaza in Kibbutz Shlomit, life hasn’t been easy for Neora and the girls. Constant sirens, school closures, and the heavy weight of loss make each day a challenge. That’s why these recent trips meant so much to them.
In Israel, the family spent precious time together horseback riding, creating ceramics, splashing in the pool, and enjoying the Lunada. They even traveled to the United States, where the girls got to experience the simple joy of shopping for new clothes and presents – normal moments that mean everything when you’re healing from trauma.
“We went on vacation together and had fun,” Neora shared simply, but those words carry so much meaning. Every smile, every moment of normalcy, is a step forward for this family.
While these trips offer beautiful breaks, the daily reality remains. Neora continues raising three daughters alone while managing bills, and ensuring her children have clothing and food- all while living with the grief that is losing your husband and the father of your children.
Your support has made this burden easier to carry- but they’re not out of the woods yet. Your continued support will help ensure this family has what they need to build their future.
Bechor gave everything to protect Israel. Together, we can make sure his family knows they’re not alone.
