Nourishing Bodies and Souls at Bubbie Hilda’s Kitchen

In the heart of Tzfat, one of Israel’s poorest cities, your generous donations have helped Bubbie Hilda’s Kitchen continue its vital mission of feeding and supporting the community. Under the dedicated leadership of Rabbi Zalman and Hannah Traxler, this kitchen has become more than just a place for meals—it’s a cornerstone of community support.

This month, we were truly blessed to provide meals for many in our congregation, coming together to share communal meals that not only nourished the body but also deepened the bonds of fellowship within our community. Additionally, we had the privilege of hosting several groups of soldiers, offering them delicious feasts as a gesture of gratitude and support. It was a meaningful opportunity to show our love and appreciation for their service, reminding them how much they are cared for and valued.

The kitchen serves a diverse community of residents who have come from across the globe to make Tzfat their home. Our work with soldiers has been particularly meaningful, as many are posted near Tzfat guarding the borders. During their rest periods in the city, we provide them with warm meals since they lack access to kitchen facilities in their temporary accommodations.

Operating from the Artist’s Court alongside the synagogue, Bubbie Hilda’s Kitchen has created a hub of support that goes beyond just feeding the hungry. The Traxlers have established programs that help community members celebrate life events, support those facing medical challenges, and ensure that no one goes without during holidays and festivals.

Your continued support makes all of this possible. Every donation helps us maintain this vital community resource that brings together people from all walks of life, creating a tapestry of kindness that makes Tzfat truly special.

Thank you for being part of our mission to nourish both bodies and souls in our holy city.
