Women and Weapons

7 years ago, 13.5-year-old Hallel Ariel was murdered in her own home, in her own bed.

It was a horrific wake-up call for her entire community. Hallel’s mother recruited a group of women and started a group called “Woman and Weapons”, the first female group of weapon holders in Judea, south of Jerusalem.

Since its founding, 70 women have joined the group. They understand that living in Judea and Samaria, where Arab terror is a constant threat, means they must be prepared to defend themselves and their families.  Their goal is to build a consistent, year-round training program to improve their ability to fire weapons safely and with maximum accuracy.

“Women and Weapons” training

The group’s self-defense training is critical for their physical safety and resilience. But it is more than that. The training builds up the women’s self-confidence and helps prevent feelings of anxiety and depression that can arise because of their living conditions. Members of the group have been exposed, daily, to stones thrown at them and existential fear of the infiltration of terrorists.

It is clear that “Women and Weapons” is necessary for the women in Judea and Samaria, but because of the expensive prices, it is cost-prohibitive for the group to continuously train. Training sessions cost thousands of shekels, which is too costly for many of the women to pay.

“Women and Weapons” training

But we recognize the importance of protecting Judea and Samaria and wholeheartedly believe in the mission of “Women and Weapons”. We couldn’t stand back when they needed our help. Thanks to your generous donations, we have been able to provide financial support to this life-saving project. With the support you’ve provided, Women and Weapons can continue training women to safely use firearms – a skill they must acquire but hope to never have to use.

As long as the threat to their safety still exists, we will be there, providing the support they need to continue to properly train. But to ensure our continued support, we need your help. Donate here to help ensure that “Women and Weapons” can continue their important work in protecting Israel.
