Making Holocaust Survivors’ Homes Safe and Dignified

Imagine stepping into your home each day, only to be greeted by broken floors, cracked walls, and leaking ceilings—a place that should feel safe, but instead feels uncertain. For many Holocaust survivors across Israel, this is the harsh reality they face. But thanks to you, our dedicated supporters, we’ve been able to change that.

Thanks to your donation and support, Tenufa Bakehila was able to transform these spaces from sources of stress into homes of comfort, dignity, and safety. This October, we’ve repaired homes, restored hope, and rekindled a sense of peace for survivors who have already endured so much.

From replacing hazardous flooring to fixing damaged walls and ceilings, from repairing faulty electrical systems to addressing plumbing issues, your support has made it possible to transform living spaces into safe, comfortable homes.

In Rishon Le’tzion, we helped Malka, a Holocaust survivor whose home needed urgent attention. Thanks to your support, we replaced dangerous flooring, painted her walls, and fixed various household amenities, creating a safer living environment. In the Lachish region, Moshe, a disabled Holocaust survivor, received comprehensive home repairs including new floor tiles and light fixtures, bringing new life to his living space.

Your generosity made an especially significant impact in Petach Tikva, where we were able to help four Holocaust survivors. Yaakov’s home received crucial roof repairs to prevent water damage, while Sarah’s apartment was renovated with fresh paint and new window screens. For Elana, we repaired and updated both her kitchen and bathroom, and Esther’s home received comprehensive plumbing and electrical improvements.

This October alone, with your help, we’ve served six Holocaust survivors across three cities, completing dozens of essential repairs. Each project represents not just a home improved, but dignity restored and care shown to those who have endured so much. These survivors, who have already faced unimaginable hardships, should never have to worry about basic home safety and functionality.

Looking Forward

While we’re proud of what we’ve accomplished together this October, there are still many Holocaust survivors in need of your help. Your continued support makes it possible for us to reach more survivors and provide them with the dignified living conditions they deserve.

Thank you for being part of this vital mission. Every donation helps us continue this important work.
