Brightening the Purim Holiday for Israel’s Holocaust Survivors

There are fewer than 200,000 Holocaust survivors in Israel today. As they age into their 80s and 90s, and as their health becomes increasingly delicate, more and more of them need our help.

Israel365’s Holocaust Survivor Fund assists these disadvantaged survivors through special projects each month of the year. Donations to the fund pay for home renovations, medicine, therapy, food, holiday gifts, and social events to help survivors stay active, healthy, and connected to the world.

For the March monthly project, we delivered gift baskets to 22 Holocaust survivors for the Jewish holiday of Purim. These survivors are not able to participate in Purim festivities due to health issues, so they were overjoyed to be visited and given gift baskets generously sponsored by our family of donors.

The baskets contained gourmet chocolates, pineapple juice, and quality tea. Also included were hand-held cognitive puzzles which provide intellectual stimulation for those suffering from dementia.

Big thanks to our donors for making this special project possible. Your support makes a huge difference in these Holocaust survivors’ lives.
