The past few years in Israel have been devastating for many families. For some, life changed in a single moment, leaving behind grief, trauma, and the responsibility of caring for young children while trying to survive day to day.
With your support, we were able to work with Divotee to reach families who urgently needed help and had nowhere else to turn.
Tehila** is a young widow and the mother of a three-year-old daughter. Tehila’s husband, Mulugata, served in the Israeli police. On October 6, while visiting family in Kiryat Bialik, he heard about a terror attack nearby. Though he was off duty, he immediately went to respond. He fought the terrorists and was killed on October 7 in Kibbutz Be’eri, saving others through his actions.
Tehila and her husband immigrated to Israel from Ethiopia with their families. Today, she lives in a small, modest apartment building with her young daughter, carrying an enormous loss while trying to build a future for her child. She shared how grateful she was for the support she received during such a painful time.
Michal is a dati leumi woman and a mother to young toddlers. Her husband was badly injured years ago in a drive-by shooting outside Eli. Although he underwent many surgeries, he never received proper treatment for the trauma he experienced. Over time, that trauma became severe, and he is now in a psychiatric facility receiving the care he should have had long ago.
Michal and her husband do not currently receive financial support from the government or other organizations, though they are now trying to secure assistance. This help came at a critical moment and was received with deep gratitude.
Families like Tehila’s and Michal’s are still navigating loss, trauma, and uncertainty. If you are able to continue helping, your support allows us to keep working with trusted partners like Divotee to reach families quietly carrying an enormous burden.
Thank you for standing with them and for making this kind of help possible.
