Make Moshav Mevo Modiim Green Again

Yesterday, Rabbi Tuly Weisz was back at Moshav Mevo Modiim, checking in on the clean-up and recovery efforts and speaking to the residents. One of the special people he met yesterday was artist and gardener Yitshak ben Yehuda.

Yitshak moved to Moshav Mevo Moddim more than 40 years ago. He is known as the “Johnny Appleseed” of the community as he single-highhandedly planted 3,000 trees over the course of 10 years.

When he arrived at Moshav Mevo Modiim, there were approximate 10-12 trees standing. By the time of the arson terror fire on May 23rd, the Moshav was home to nearly 6,000 trees, around 50% of which have been completely burnt.

Rabbi Tuly Weisz is committed to helping replant these trees! We are going to plant 3,000 new trees in Moshav Mevo Modiim in an effort to MAKE THE MOSHAV GREEN AGAIN!

“This was a purification that we had to go through. I don’t see it as a bad thing, it renews nature and I think this place was very green before the fire and it is going to be three times greener” said Yitshak.
