Iran has begun what may be its most devastating assault on Israeli soil. Ballistic missiles and drones are striking homes, apartment buildings, and neighborhoods across Israel — and families are hiding in safe rooms, praying the walls hold.
A missile struck the roof of a shelter in Beit Shemesh — just minutes from the Israel365 office — killing nine people and wounding dozens more. Among the injured: a 10-year-old girl. Twenty people remain unaccounted for. They had done everything right. They heard the sirens. They ran to safety. The shelter became the target.
This is not a battlefield far from where people live. Iran targeted Israeli neighborhoods — on Shabbat. At 8:13 a.m., sirens across Israel announced that the country was now at war. Millions of Israelis jumped up and ran for shelter, just as the people of Beit Shemesh did.
Israel and the United States launched a coordinated preemptive strike on Iran, dubbed Operation Epic Fury, targeting Iran’s missile infrastructure and senior leadership. Iran responded by firing dozens of ballistic missiles at Israeli cities. The missiles are still coming.
In Tel Aviv, a mother of two ran to an underground subway station because her building has no safe room. “Every time there’s a siren, we run to the stairwell,” she said, “and it doesn’t feel safe enough.” In Beit Shemesh, she would have been right.
These are the people you can help. The war has started. The need is immediate.
For months, Israelis lived with the tension of knowing this conflict was coming. Now it is here. Iran has already fired dozens of ballistic missiles toward Israeli population centers. Air defense systems intercepted some — but others reached the ground. Missile and interceptor fragments have landed across the country. Hospitals have moved patients underground and converted parking garages into emergency wards. Ben Gurion Airport has halted all flights. Purim celebrations have been canceled. Israel is on a war footing.
Families who rebuilt after the June 2025 conflict — who put their children back in school and tried to move forward — are in the shelters again. Others have no shelter at all. Some buildings are locked. Some are too old to have reinforced rooms. Some residents are too old or frail to get there on their own.
The situation is unfolding by the hour. The need is real and it is now.
As Iran’s missiles fall on Israeli cities, thousands of families are facing the same devastating reality: they are hiding underground, cut off from normal life, with no timeline for when it ends.
Emergency shelters are filling. Food, medicine, clothing, and psychological support are urgently needed. Children who lived through the last war are reliving the terror. And Israeli soldiers have been called up on emergency orders, leaving families behind with no warning.
